Traxxas Slash Wheels | Upgrade Tips

Few words about Wheel Offset and Wheel Diameter

Changing Traxxas Slash Wheels or Traxxas Slash Tires is easy to do and it will give Slash nice new look which is important, but this is not the main reason why you should do wheel upgrades. Before changing you should check for wheel offset and diameter. Those two things are very important for successful upgrades. For those who don't know what is wheel offset and wheel diameter (inner and outer), please take a look at following pictures.

Wheel offset is very important for because Traxxas Slash have wheels under the body, which is not case with other trucks such as Stampede. If you want to put bigger wheels you will probably need to cut the body which I would not recommend. You have to be aware that if you put bigger wheels, you will increase tensions in whole suspension which could lead to premature breakdown.

Many of you ask if there is any difference between the those two rims, and that is a problem when you changing wheels. All Traxxas Slash models including Slash Nitro and Slayer Pro have wheels with 2.2" outer diameter and 3.0" inner diameter. The only exceptions are 1/16 scale Slash's which have 1.6" wheels.
